Sir Shaker recently had the honor of creating 3 cocktail recipes for the famed McNinch House Restaurant in Charlotte, NC. These cocktails were featured at their annual Flamingle Event, which honors the late Founder, Ellen Davis. Ellen adored flamingoes, so this was the perfect event to celebrate National Flamingo Day. 🦩
This cocktail is a cross between a mojito and a traditional daiquiri. For the mojito part, of course there is rum and lime juice, and to add the unique mint taste, I created a very easy mint simple syrup. For the daiquiri side, there is the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup and I served the drink in a traditional coupe/daiquiri glass.
Start with a shaker full of ice
2oz Bacardi Dragonberry Rum
1oz Lime Juice
0.5oz Mint Simple Syrup (see below for recipe)
Shake and strain into a coupe
Top with seltzer water/club soda
Mint Simple Syrup
In a small pot, combine the below ingredients: - 1 cup water - 1 cup sugar - 1 cup mint leaves
Bring to a boil over medium heat
Once boiling, let simmer for 1 minute
Remove from heat and let it steep for 30 minutes
Strain & enjoy!
